Barbara Deming of Rural and Migrant Ministries will present a film called “Why We Come (Por Que Venimos),” a deeply affecting story of why people leave Mexico and Central America to come to the U.S., what happens on the journey and how they cope with life here. The migrantsÂ’ stories are intimate and compelling, reminding us that immigration reform is about people. Following the film, she will lead a discussion of the status of Comprehensive Immigration Reform.
