When I called Sen. Ted O’Brien to ask for his support of the Farmworker Fair Labor Practices Act the person who answered the phone said that there have been very few calls in support of this critical legislation for farmworkers. Please help by calling his office. Calls to Albany are especially beneficial as the Legislature is in session now. Senator O’Brien’s district includes Irondequoit, City of Rochester, E. Rochester, Pittsford, Penfield, Perinton. Provisions of S.585 include: Overtime pay, a day of rest, collective bargaining, disability insurance coverage.

As a constituent I am concerned about the lack of farmworkers’ rights under NY state law. I am asking Senator O’Brien to support the Farmworker Fair Labor Practices Act (S.1743).
For far too long farmworkers have been wrongfully excluded from NY’s basic labor protections. I urge Sen. O’Brien to right this wrong by supporting this bill and seeing that it gets passed.
Si se puede! – Yes, we can!
Thank you.
