Program: Reform in Honduras and US Opposition
Karen Spring is a human rights activist and researcher, who is currently the Honduras-based Coordinator for the Honduras Solidarity Network (HSN). Karen has lived for over a decade in Honduras. She hosts the Honduras Now podcast: hondurasnow.org and a blog at: aquiabajo.com. Ms. Spring’s presentation will focus on U.S. efforts to stop many of the reforms that President Xiomara and her government are working to implement and how the US, via the State Department and the Embassy, have been intervening to protect U.S. economic interests. She will also discuss the positive changes that the new Xiomara administration has implemented.
