Professor Costa de Moraes, a native of Brazil, will discuss the recent history, culture and politics of Brazil, including the policies of its current right wing president, Jair Bolsonaro, who seems to have modeled his leadership style after Donald Trump. He will also describe the many ways in which COVID-19 has impacted Brazil, which has by far the highest number of cases and deaths in Latin America.
