One of the significant needs of our migrant farmworker community is for help with transportation. This need peaks during the planting and harvesting seasons when migrant populations are the highest. Typically, the transportation is to the immigration offices in Buffalo where many workers must report on a bi-weekly basis. We are looking for volunteer drivers who would drive two to four farmworkers to Buffalo and back. The trips are weekday mornings. You do not need to speak Spanish and we will provide directions. If you would be more comfortable riding along your first time, we can work it out. If you are interested, we need your phone and/or email contact information.
I often hear people say, I would like to help migrant farmworkers but I just don’t know how. Here is a way. Consider trying this out one time. You will be rewarded by the gratitude of folks who need help. My phone is 637-3665 and my email.
